The Purpose of Cub Scouting

The Boy Scouts of America has helped younger boys through Cub Scouting since 1930. It is a family-oriented program with activities all year round designed for boys who are in the first through fifth grade - ages seven through ten years of age. The Cub Scout program offers fun and sometimes challenging activities to promote character development and physical fitness. Boys will have the opportunity to go camping, build Pinewood Derby race cars, sailboats, play sports, engage in community service opportunities, and much - much more.

Every Cub Scout is part of a Pack. The Pack is broken down into smaller dens. Dens will meet once a week to learn and work towards getting their achievement badges. It is also a great opportunity for boys to make new friends.

Cub Scout Advancement

Advancement throughout the Cub Scout program builds confidence in boys and they will receive positive recognition for their hard work as badges are earned. In a cooperative effort, adult family members and all Pack Cub Scout leaders will help to encourage the boys to earn their achievements and graduate to the next Cub Scout rank.

Bobcat - The Bobcat rank must be earned by all Cub Scouts.

Tiger Cub - First grade or age 7

Wolf - Second grade or age 8

Bear - Third grade or age 9

Webelos - Fourth and fifth grade or age 10
